Output Devices Matrix
Actuators and indicators allow your firmware to influence the physical world. Intarva’s physics engine calculates the exact electrical load and timing for every component.
The Engineering of Actuation
In a high-fidelity simulation, output devices are more than just “on” or “off” states. They are dynamic electrical loads that interact with your power rails.
Source & Sink Dynamics
Every GPIO pin in Intarva has a maximum current capacity. Overloading a pin by connecting too many LEDs without resistors will trigger a Virtual Component Failure, accurately reflecting real hardware limitations.
Protocol Timing
Components like NeoPixels rely on 800kHz bit-stream timing. Intarva’s sub-tick engine validates this signal with nanosecond precision, ensuring that “flicker” only happens if your code timing is incorrect.
Technical Matrix
| Component | Technical Description | Implementation Snippet |
|---|---|---|
| LED / RGB LED | Standard light indicators. Supports PWM for brightness scaling and 16-million color mixing on RGB models. |
new Pin('GP15').write(1);Pin(15, Pin.OUT).on() |
| NeoPixel (WS2812B) | Addressable RGB strips. Simulates the precise timing protocol for single-wire multi-LED control. |
new NeoPixel('GP16', 8).show();neopixel.NeoPixel(Pin(16), 8).write() |
| Servo Motor | High-precision angular actuator (0-180°). Responds to standard 50Hz PWM signals. |
new Servo('GP12').angle(90);PWM(Pin(12), freq=50).duty_u16(4915) |
| Stepper Motor | Discrete-step motor for 360° positioning. Requires a driver like the ULN2003 for high-torque simulation. |
new Stepper('GP14', 'GP15').step(100);# Manual GPIO phase cycling... |
| Active Buzzer | Audible frequency generator. Triggers instantly upon receiving a HIGH logic level. |
new Pin('GP14').write(1);Pin(14, Pin.OUT).on() |
